COMPETING AGAINST THE WHITE MAN: WHY BLACK MEN MAY NEVER WIN!

After reading “Dreams From My Father,” by now-President Barack Obama, I may have found the answer to the question: “How can the Black man compete equitably against the White man?”

President Obama’s father and grandfather in Kenya were very sharp individuals and could have excelled more than they did. However, they were up against a foe that would either change the economic game plan, the economic game rules, or make up a new economic game and make sure that the opponent never got a hold of the game plan or the game rules!

This book needs to be read by every Black man, especially by every Black man in America who is an African American and who may carry negative psychological negative baggage from being a descendant of Black slaves in America. In fact, this book should be required reading for every Black child in America as it may save them from doing a lot of useless mental calisthenics when it comes to dealing with White America.

President Obama’s grandfather watched his son, Dr. Barack Obama, father to our President Obama, struggle so hard to get ahead and stay ahead financially and socially after he had earned degrees from the University of Hawaii and from Harvard University. Dr. Barack senior had such high hopes; such great dreams. He felt he was equal to the White man and should be respected for all of his learning. Unfortunately, he spoke out with his feelings when he felt some wrong had been administered to him, his Kenyan people, or to others. He never understood something that his father understood and could be explained so simplistically.

The elder Obama, Onyango Obama, also had great dreams like his son, but he learned that in order for him to survive and not live in frustration, he would have to live without having the opportunities to do all that he wanted to do. He watched his son prosper, speak out and lose his position, lose the economic foothold he had on the mountainside of economic success, and fall all the way to the bottom without any safety net. He watched his son struggle with the ill-treatment from the White man, and suffer mistreatment even by his own people.

It took wise observations and listening by President Obama’s step-grandmother to explain to our Barack Obama lessons the grandfather tried to teach his son, the father of our President Obama.

Called Granny by President Obama and others, this very wise woman shared a conversation overheard by her when President Obama’s grandfather, Onyango Obama, was trying to share his observation about the White man with Dr. Barack Obama, father of our President.

Grandfather Obama said that Africans could never defeat the White man because the Black man only wanted to work with his own family or group, while the White man worked with other White men working together to solidify their power. Grandfather Obama went on to say that “The White man alone is like an ant. He can be easily crushed. But like an ant, the White man works together. His nation, his business --- these things are more important to him than himself. He will follow his leaders and not question orders. Black men are not like this. Even the most foolish Black man thinks he knows better than the wise man. That is why the Black man will always lose.”

I found the words of grandfather Obama was right on! Over the years, I have watched Black men tear down the reputation and/or work of another Black man. I have found Black men arguing with each other over the smallest infraction, instead of looking at the big picture. But, I have seen those same Black men smiling and shuffling their feet when a White man was present and giving them orders, or telling their version of how a job needed to be done. After receiving orders from a White man, I have seen these same Black men lower their eyes and reluctantly do whatever the White man said needed to be done, or not question the version of a story that a White man would give.

So, unless the Black man in America learns how to listen more than he talks, and how to use his mind over his emotions, he will never be able to really compete against the White man and win long-term. When he tried to make the White man give him work at a fair price and be more hospitable concerning his living conditions, the White man just brought in more immigrants, legal and illegal, and just keeps on making money. The unemployment of Black men in America will continue to rise while the unemployment of immigrants will always remain low or non-existent.

The future of the average Black man in America is very bleak. Thanks to their inability to control their emotions, they continue to kill each other, and continue to have women have their babies which they will not help raise in a positive environment. Then, their children will continue to be weaker mentally, have more health issues, and will probably die at an increasingly alarming rate. Frustrated men having sex with unfulfilled women will continue to bring forth undisciplined children usually. There will always be that 30 – 40% of Black children that will rise up and not become a negative statistic. However, those numbers will decrease as more angry and frustrated Black men continue to have sex with more angry and unfulfilled Black women, soon creating a permanent underclass that will not be able to compete even in future sports events.

So, what’s the answer? Well, we could castrate all economically, unproductive angry Black men that have no positive goals and continue to be a drain on their community. Or, we could continue to build more prisons and seek longer prison terms that would keep more Black men in prison longer and away from society, hoping they get killed by a drive-by shooting, or die from ill-health or AIDS/HIV. Or, we could train them for war and allow them to die an honorable death on the battlefield. Or, we could make the investment of time and money and other resources to equip them to fill a niche in the larger society.

One thing is certain: the economic loss and frustration in the Black communities will continue to have a negative impact on the society of America as a whole. Drive-bys and drugs and AIDS won’t kill all of the millions of angry, frustrated, and unfulfilled Black men in America. Some of them will infiltrate the larger society and make their lives a living hell with unplanned pregnancies, additional numbers of poor people needing services that taxpayers will have to cover, and showing the world that America still hasn’t taken the time or energy to solve problems created by earlier generations.

The one ray of hope (other than a spiritual intervention) could come from wise White people (men and women) who see that developing allies inside the country is more cost-effective than continuing to try to develop allies outside the country. When America has formidable enemies inside its borders, as well as outside its borders, wise people in America will see value in developing home-grown talent to help fight the enemies inside America, as well as help fight enemies outside America.

PLANNING PAST THE 2010 ELECTION

This election was very interesting. I had hoped that name-calling and other low-down thinking would not be so prevalent. I wonder if the name-calling would have been the same if there was an Anglo American person serving as President!

However, when one compares the election of President F. D. Roosevelt over outgoing President Herbert Hoover. Like President Obama and the Democratic Party, President Hoover and the Republican Party was blamed for America's economic crises. Thankfully, President Roosevelt was able to bring Congress together and get both sides of the aisle to agree to some compromises in order to get the country up and running again. Perhaps President Obama will get support from forward-thinking Republicans and Democrats to be able to forge a coalition to help all Americans during our current economic crises.

Maybe I should run for President! I have enough experience as a working American who understands economic cycles, the impact of wars on one’s economy, the need for immigration reform, the importance of education, the rationale of capital punishment and smaller prison budgets, encouraging “Buy American First!”, and doing all those things to help the country that a radical, moderate, progressive conservative should do in these challenging times. Unfortunately, I would not run as a Republican or as a Democrat and would not have the millions behind me needed to brainwash people to vote for me---the lesser of the other evil people!

Maybe it’s time for a dictatorship to take over America. Most Americans know what needs to be done to have lower taxes, less government intrusion, higher wages for the masses of working people, accountability in education and government, to keep more jobs inside the country than going outside the country, the consequences of having cheap labor from the millions of illegal and some legal immigrants, uncovering the ungodly profits made by the quiet stockholders and the shrewd corporate executives, and the hundreds of other little pieces of the puzzle that needs to be put together in order to have a smooth-running economic vessel, trudging along in troubled fiscal waters. At least a dictator with a strong military group could just make things happen, and run ship-shod over civil rights, personal property rights, equal rights, the Bill of Rights, and all the other “rights” people want.

However, after the red AND blue “true” Americans rise up and overthrew the dictator and have taken back power from the military machinery, some human will still have to be willing to stick out their neck. This person would have to be willing to work with political parties that would care more about pleasing special interest groups that raised the money to make it possible for the person to even sit in the special chair and be called “President” or some other executive name. This person would have to be willing to have their personal and business life held up to the inquiring minds who would want to know the details of the scratches on their leader’s armour. This person would have to be willing to work long hours for the little pay received for the harm done to their bodies. They would also have to stand quietly by while their opponents with small brains and simple intellect throw missles of hatred toward members of their family, as well as throw mud on any project the person would put forward to help the masses of the American public.

It’s really easy to fix the problems we face in America. We could begin by merging smaller cities and towns, thus eliminating the need for so many overlapping positions that require more tax money. We could cut Congress by at least ½, as well as cut every office supported by tax dollars by 70%, choosing to use more technology without feelings, than using so many people with selfish feelings.

To help America, we could insist that everyone take better care of their own health and economic well-being without the aid of government programs. Those who are unable to do so would be helped, but only after agreeing to serve their communities and their government by doing those chores normally done by a public servant. Everyone would be charged a fee for health care, based on the color of their card, without regard to the color of their skin, or their limited resources. The rich, and those with resources, including good jobs with good pay and good benefits, would be charged on a sliding-fee scale, based on how far they went in school, and on how wise they were in choosing a way to take/make money, or in choosing an occupation that paid very well and/or had great medical benefits.

To further help America, we could charge all countries a fee for helping them win their freedom/democracy. They would pay by giving America their resources, and/or by becoming a puppet of American democracy (since we would know what is best for them). All wars would be on a “cash-basis” only. Before we would enter a war, or a “peace-keeping” mission, we would figure out the cost to win and thus charge our allies accordingly. If they could not pay, America would not enter the war or mission, realizing that this country might be taken over by an enemy of America and turn that country with hatred for America and all Americans.

To stem the tide of “sleeper spies,” terrorism, and drugs coming into America, we could move the United Nations building to Sweden or some other “neutral” country. We would then eliminate “diplomatic immunity” and check everyone coming to our shores, both friend and enemy. We would also put a team to watch all “outsiders,” making sure no drugs or anything that could hurt America is being brought in. To insure a “drug-free” country, we would develop a private military group to destroy all production and personnel associated with illegal drugs in all countries, including ours, as well as keep track of those associated with “legal” drugs. Those drug users who refuse to go into rehabilitation and stay clean would be sent to the moon or some other safe place, away from all of the “healthy” citizens in America. They would be given tools for food production, housing, and would be offered training so they could develop their own rules for living.

All those refusing to at least complete community college or trade school would be trained to become the new, military “fighting machine,” and sent abroad to “keep the peace” for all of America’s interest, as well as the interest of America’s allies. To ensure compliance to do what is right, and to ensure there is no rebellion, each of these individuals would undertake a brain lobotomy to ensure their loyalty to their training against all enemies and protection of all Americans.

Eventually, all budgets to aid the poor, the sick, and the unemployed would be eliminated, saving the American taxpayers billions. These groups would become the responsibility of their families, faith-based groups, and communities. In return, these groups would do mental, physical, or other work for their communities to ensure local budgets had funds to help their every need. No death-row inmate would have to stay on death-row any longer than one year, eliminating the harsh and unjust treatment they now receive for having to have life sentences. Their organs could be processed to aid those they have hurt, as well as aid others who are living productive lives who could profit from their organs. Plus, the victims and the families of victims would not have to suffer for years, waiting for justice to help balance the scales. Those waiting for sentencing, those in jails, and those in prisons would be required to work 10 hours a day, six days a week. They would be fed a minimal, but nutritious, diet. They would also be trained to be useful while they wait for execution, or when they were released. In time, this process would balance the budget as well as help our schools. The billions saved from this process would be shifted to our education system where all citizens were being trained to become productive and prosperous, with little need for health care or government programs.

Yeah, I just might run for President if I cannot become the wonderful, loving dictator that America needs to solve all of its problems!
